Mt. Fuji in Red

I just watched the masterful “Akira Kurosawa’s Dreams” in honor of the nuclear disaster building in Japan. If you haven’t watched this film, do. One of the dreams is called “Mt. Fuji in Red”; six nuclear reactors have blown up north of Mt Fuji and all of Tokyo runs to escape the radioactive clouds; everyone leaps off a cliff into the sea because there is no escape. A mother clutching her two small children looks back at the fires and cries, “You told us it was safe. You said there would only be human error, accidents weren’t possible. You lied to us.”

Akira Kurosawa made many fantastic films, including "Seven Samurai" and one of my favorite moveis of all time, "Ikiru." Internet movie database page.
